Bird Feeder Complex - Complete!

Here are the kindergartners by the new
bird feeder complex.

Our Bird Feeder Complex is complete and open for business!  Today we had our ribbon-cutting ceremony.  The kindergartners and last year's kindergartners came out to the lake today to join the SkillsUSA teens to listen to Mr. Barker and I say a few words.  Then after the ribbon cutting, the president of the Community Club announced that we are the "Citizens of the Month" for our town!  They also donated $200 for bird seed and some members volunteered to help fill the feeders.  Yay!  What a day!

Here's a photo of all of the students that had
a hand in this project.  The older students put a lot
of hard work into it, so a big thank you to these teens!
The kindergartners and 1st graders were checking out the
seed and wondering how the birds get the
seeds out.  I love their curiosity!
I explained to the young students that this is very special
and we will need to take good care of it.  I told them that
they should stay outside of the circle when they visit and
not touch the feeders.  I reminded them that they needed
to be like a ninja when they come to watch the birds being
slow and quiet, so as not to frighten the birds away.

We had very nice weather for this event!

Here is the crowd listening to Mr. Barker speak.

Here is the actual ribbon-cutting by a 1st grade girl.

Eden is announcing that that these students are the
"Citizens of the Month" for November!
