Arbor Day

Arbor Day is "tree day" and we have been studying
trees for a week.  Today Jessica from the Douglas County
Extension Office brought each kindergartner a Black Hill's
Spruce tree {our SD state tree} and a coloring book about soil.
This is a tradition for each kindergartner in the county to
receive a tree.  This year the kindergarten teachers all
received a Hydranga Bush!  Wow!  That was very, very nice!

A Doggy Visitor - Meet Zeus!

We had a great time meeting Maxwell's dog, Zeus!
He and his family told us all about him.

A Gift From Guatemala

Tanya Urquieta visited Guatemala recently and sent the kindergartners a bird necklace or toy.  The bird is their national bird called the Resplendent Quetzal, which is a beautiful bird.  The male has an extremely long tail.  The children love this bird, so they were thrilled to receive this gift!

The Easter Bunny Surprised Us! 4-18-19

The kids came in from recess and discovered that their Easter baskets were missing, so the search was on!  They looked around the room and found their basket filled with candy and an Easter notebook!  They were sure happy!

Kindergarten Round-up

We enjoyed our time with the preschoolers as they were here for Kindergarten Round-up, which is a transition time for preschoolers.  Here are some photos from the day.
